Hope Garrett, Swim & Dive

Sophomore Swimmer Hope Garrett finished a tremendous 2017 season which was capped at the California State Swim & Dive Finals with All-American Honors.

Her fabulous finish to the year began at the Central Valley Conference Championships where she won a quartet of races and ended the meet with four medals around her neck. She took first place in the 50 yard and 100 yard butterfly races and followed those up with first place in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 yard butterfly. She crushed the competition in the 200 yard butterfly with a final time of 2:17.51, more than 10 second faster than the second place finisher.

Her dominance in the pool afforded her the opportunity to travel to East LA College for the State Championships where she swam in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly and the 100 yard backstroke.

She reached the finals for the 100 and 200 yard butterfly taking 16th in the 100 yard and 12th in the 200 yard races. Garrett received All-American honors in women's swimming for her placement in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly races. The top 16 times in each event are recognized with All-American status from the California Community College Athletic Association.
