Mariners Outgun Mendocino College 90-60

COM Men's Basketball's two losses in November seem like a distant memory at this point. With the Mariners demolition of Mendocino College on December 30th, their record now stands at 7-3 and 2-0 in Bay Valley Conference play. Marin's dynamic duo of Trevelin Queen and Nylek Cobb led the way once again as Marin posted a 30 point win over Mendocino College 90-60.

Marin jumped out early to a big first half lead and held a 44-29 advantage at the end of the first half.  Cobb and Queen each had five first half field goals. Cobb scored 10 in the first half, while Queen had three threes and three free throws to net 16.

The second half saw the margin double as Marin was able to easily coast to a 46-31 second half score line for their seventh win of the calendar month against just a single loss. Cobb had four threes in the second half and scored 14, while Queen chipped in another 9 of his own.

The 90-60 Marin win was impressive for many reasons, the team shot more than 50% from the floor and made 13 three pointers as well as assisting on 22 of their 33 made baskets.

Queen had 25 points in total, his eighth consecutive game topping the 20 point mark. He even flirted with a triple double as he had nine rebounds and seven assists as well. Cobb had 24 points, six assists, four rebounds and three blocks.

Head Coach Scott Thom was confident in his team's ability to grow from game to game "Guys locked in and did great job defending and executing our offense. I'm really proud of our guys, they continue to be coachable and work on our weaknesses."

Marin hosts College of Alameda and Los Medanos College in the first week of the New Year before traveling to Solano College on Saturday, January 7th
