COM Men’s Soccer Fights To A Scoreless Draw At Ohlone

A bloodless score line does not always indicate a drab affair, as was the case Tuesday at Ohlone College. The College of Marin Men's Soccer Team could not find the back of the net, but did an admirable job of preventing their opposition from doing the same. Marin battled Ohlone to a 0-0 final result that saw several opportunities for both to score.

It was a good building block for the Marin defense that had struggled to keep opposing offenses in check in recent matches. For Coach Morrison "It was a game where we needed just one moment to tip the scales in our favor.  It didn't happen but the resiliency we saw behind the ball allowed us to stay in the game and continue to push for more. "

Marin Keeper William Finnie did an excellent job between the poles as he thwarted all 13 of Ohlone's shots on goal to record his second shutout of the season.

The Mariners are progressing day by day and according to Morrison "We were able to respond after our last performance and start to lay a good foundation as we move closer to conference.  We saw somethings today that show we are going in the right direction."

The draw gave the Mariners their second result of the season, following their 2-0 victory over Siskiyous College on September 12th. College of Marin Men's Soccer looks for their second win of the season as they host Gavilan College on Friday, September 23rd at 2pm.
