Men’s Soccer Ends Season With Loss to Mendocino 2-1

The last game of the season for the College of Marin Men's Soccer team was exciting to say the least. The Mariners scored just before the first half whistle while the defense did their best to hold up against the Mendocino's second half attack.  The visitors scored twice, just five minutes apart to a grab a 2-1 advantage. While Marin attacked furiously, they were unsuccessful at finding the game tying goal.

Henry Mata scored in the 45th minute for Marin to enter the break with a 1-0 lead. That lead lasted until the 62nd minute in the second half where Mendocino's Juan Velazco equalized for the visiting Eagles. Just five minutes later Chase Johnson scored for Mendocino to take a 2-1 lead. It was a lead they would not relinquish as Marin could not find another goal.

Henry Mata scored his team high sixth goal of the season in the loss, while William Finnie had nine saves in the goal for Marin.
