College of Marin Men's Soccer traveled to Ohlone College on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The teams matched up well as Ohlone took an early 2-0 lead in the first half before Marin rallied to pull within a goal just before halftime. The home team added a third in the final minutes but the Mariners pushed Ohlone to the limit and continued to fight until the final whistle.

The home team was aggressive from the opening whistle as Ohlone's Jonathan Goncalves hit the cross bar in the fourth minute. Marin parried reversed the field controlling the ball in the attacking third for a good portion of time. In the 29^th minute Ohlone found the breakthrough as Edgar Cerna teed up a pass for Jesus Radillo who break Mariners keeper Colin Sneddon for the opening goal of the match. Ohlone added their second goal just six minutes later as Ismail Shafi scored off a pass from Emmanuel Borjon.

The Mariners were down but not out, as they continued to push forward in the final minutes of the first half. Debutant Angel Colli made his presence felt immediately as he took a pass from Alex Argueta and scored to cut the Ohlone lead to 2-1 at halftime.

After the break Ohlone kept a constant attack on the Marin goal. Sneddon did an excellent job defending his goal included a pair of excellent saves off the boot of Ohlone's Jovani Campos. The teams played to relative draw for the next twenty minutes until the Mariners had successive corner kicks in the 86^th minute but were unable to get the tying goal. In the final minute, Joseph Parades scored to give Ohlone a 3-1 lead which stood until the final whistle.

Coach Michael Crivello on his team's performance ""We ran into a tough test at Ohlone today. I thought we had some good moments, but not enough to get a result. Now we can hit the reset button and have some time to regroup before our first league game against Mendocino." 

The Mariners open conference play on Friday, September 29^th against Mendocino College in Kentfield.
