Garrett and Sennehen Make Waves At BVC Championships

College of Marin Swimmers Hope Garrett and Alex Sennehen both had excellent showings at the Bay Valley Conference Swimming Championships at Solano College over the weekend.

Hope Garrett competed in four different events and placed third or better in all of them. Garrett took third place in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:06.40 and second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02:31. In the 50 yard backstroke she placed second in 30.37 seconds and second in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 27.87 seconds.

Hope has a chance to compete at the State Championships on May 5th at East LA College depending on the qualification times set around the state.

For the Men's team Alex Sennehen competed in the 200 yard freestyle event and placed eighth with a time of 2:42.20.

Overall both the Men's and the Women's Teams took sixth place in the team competition. The women's team had 579 points while the men's team had 121 points.
