The 12th Annual Mariner Invitational took place at the College of Marin Indian Valley Campus on Saturday, March 11th. Six teams from California competed including Pasadena City College. Hope Garrett was dominant in the races while Brandon Guy emerged triumphant from the diving tank.
Hope Garrett continued her excellent start to the season as she medaled in three separate races. In the 50 yard freestyle race she took third place in 27.57 seconds. She did even better in the 50 yard butterfly as Garrett took first place in 28.66 seconds. Her trifecta of races concluded with the 200 yard butterfly where she also took first place with a time of two minutes and 33 seconds exactly.
In the diving competition, Brandon Guy took first place in the 1 meter springboard with a total score of 155.20.
Next up for the aquatic Mariners is the Las Positas Invitational in Livermore on Friday, January 31st.
