COM Track & Field Sets Several Personal Records at Last Chance Meet

College of Marin Track & Field took part in their final regular season meet of the year at College of San Mateo on Thursday, April 20th. The results were primarily positive from the meet.

The highlight had to be the men's 4x400 meter relay team who grabbed the win with a new personal best time of 3:36.97. Emile Del Barrio ran the anchor leg and came from behind in the final 100 meters for the team win. He ran in the individual 400 meter dash and took first place with a time of 51.16 seconds, prior to the 4x400 meter relay.

Zachary Ahlin had a positive day on both the track and field as he set a new personal best in the pole vault with a height of 4.06. He is currently ranked 13th in Northern California and third in the conference. He set a personal record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.15 and had the fastest split time in the team 4x400 meter relay.

Mark Wang and Haziel Garcia both competed in the 1500 meter run. Wang set a personal record with a time of 4:38.94 while Garcia matched his personal best with a time of 4:21.49.

On the women's side Grace Davis set a personal best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.91. Her and Kim Maxwell both ran competitively in the 200 meter dash before Kim took seventh in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.45 seconds.

Marin travels to the Bay Valley Conference Championships on Thursday, April 27th at Merritt College in Oakland.
