COM Women’s Basketball Drops Home Opener To Shasta College 72-35

An early start time contributed to College of Marin's shooting woes as they fell to Shasta College 72-35. The team shot just 17% in their home opener while Shasta drained 13 three pointers in the blowout loss. Tori Buckley and Amari Allison led Marin with seven points each.

After an early 2-0 lead for Marin, Shasta went on a scoring rampage to take a 17-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw an improvement for Marin as they managed 13 points against the 15 of Shasta for a 32-18 halftime advantage for the visitors.

The third quarter offered no respite from the shooting display by Shasta as they poured in another 19 points including five three pointers. Marin could only counter with five points of their own as the deficit grew to 51-23 at quarters end. The fourth saw Shasta add another 21 points against just 12 by Marin for a final score of 72-35 Shasta.

Allison had seven points, 11 rebounds and a block for the Mariners while Buckley chipped in seven points ten rebounds and three steals for the home team.

College of Marin has a quick turnaround as they host Skyline College at 7PM on Friday, November 18th
