Women’s Soccer Falls 7-0 To Solano

A rainy trip to Fairfield did not go as planned as the Mariners fell to Solano College 7-0 on Tuesday. The undermanned Mariners ran into the onslaught that was the Solano attack as they scored three times in the first half and four in the second.

College of Marin held Solano off the board for the first 29 minutes of play until Annalissa Pena score to break the 0-0 deadlock. Solano added two more before the break to take a 3-0 halftime lead. The second half was again all Solano as they scored four more for a lopsided 7-0 final score.

Coach Andrew Jones was upbeat about the game "Solano is a great team, and very well coached. We did our best to sit back and defend, Solano deserves a lot of credit for being able to put a lot of pressure on us all game. Playing Solano is a tough test but will help us prepare and be ready for Los Medanos at home on Friday."

The Mariners host Los Medanos College at 2PM on Friday in Kentfield, looking for a positive result, after drawing 2-2 at Los Medanos, earlier this season.
