Ana Kravitz’s Five Goals Lead Thrashing of Contra Costa 8-1

Marin Women's Soccer traveled to San Pablo and faced off against Contra Costa on Tuesday. The match was over almost immediately as the Mariners scored twice in the first three minutes of play and never looked back. Ana Kravitz led the way with a quintet of goals while Carolina Gonzalez scored twice and Kelly Santana added one as well.

Marin scored just 20 seconds into the match as Tatum Robach setup Ana Kravitz for the goal, her first of the season. Minutes later Kelly Santana doubled the Marin advantage off a pass from Carolina Gonzalez. It was Santana's third goal of the year and third consecutive match with a goal.

The Mariners took a twenty minute break before putting the ball into the back of the net yet again. This time it was Carolina Gonzalez who scored with the assist from Santana. It was Gonzalez' first of the season but she was not finished on the afternoon. Kravitz added her second of the half in the 36th minute assisted by Lauren Timmons. The home team pulled one back in the 38th minute, but the Mariners went to the half with a 4-1 lead.

The second half followed the first half's script with goals galore for the Mariners. Kravitz added to her tally with the goal to complete the hat trick in the 56th minute. Robach earned her second assist of the match as Kravitz bagged her third goal of day. She added her fourth in the 61st minute and completed the quintet in the 70th minute with the assist credited to Disa Johannson. Gonzalez bagged a brace with a goal in the 88th minute with Robach providing the supply.

"Our group did a great job of controlling the game and creating a lot of scoring opportunities. Midfielder Ana Kravitz did a great job attacked through the middle of the field that resulted in five goals for her. We are excited for our next challenge on Friday against last year's conference champions Mendocino College," said Coach Jones.

Marin travels to Mendocino College on Friday, October 6th.
