Volleyball Sweeps Through Contra Costa for Sixth Conference Win

The Volleyball team bounced back in a big way with a straight set victory over Contra Costa College on Tuesday. After a two loss week, the Mariners took out their frustrations on a winless Comets squad and outscored them 75-34.

The Mariners jumped out to a quick start in the first set and never looked back recording a 25-13 first set victory. The second was even more dominant as the Mariners yielded just six points in a 25-6 second set win. Contra Costa fought back in the third, but the Mariners still won 25-15.

“It was a great to get a bounce back performance after a tough week, we competed hard and controlled the entire match,” said Coach Lindsay Baciagalupi.

Tate Dobbins had 16 kills against only a single error for a hitting percentage of .577. She also chipped in two assists and four kills. Jenny Huezo had 30 assists and five aces while Kailey Walker lead the team in points with 12 kills and six aces.

College of Marin plays their final home game of the season against Solano College on Friday, November 13th at 6pm. Their final game of the season is at Mendocino on Tuesday, November 17th at 6pm.
