Mariners Volleyball Trounces Alameda In Straight Sets

Coming off their third consecutive five set match, the Mariners were hoping for an easier match on Wednesday even in Alameda. Their wish was answered as the team performed tremendously well and defeated their opponents in straight sets, 25-12, 25-20 and 25-8.

Marin came out quickly and built a large advantage over College of Alameda. They easily dispatched the home team by a score of 25-12.  The second set was a bit more of a dog fight, but Marin came through with the 25-20 win. After a short intermission for a dig pink event the Mariners resumed the match without missing a beat, and finished off the match with a 25-8 final set victory.

Salomi Galodamu was outstanding for Marin on the outside. She hit .250 on the evening with 10 kills and five errors on 20 total attacks. She added two aces, 2.5 blocks and four digs in a 14.5 point match.

Sarah Harris had 22 assists and three kills for Marin, Emma Harris had five digs and five aces while Elisa Steele had five kills, four aces and half a block in a 9.5 point match.

"It was a great team effort tonight, and we played clean volleyball. It is great to see our players improve on a daily basis. Salomi Galodamu really stood out tonight on the outside and was an offensive weapon."

Marin is now 4-2 in Bay Valley Conference play and 8-7 overall. They look to build on this win at Mendocino on Friday.
