Volleyball Pushes Streak to Four With 3-0 Win Over Laney College

 Mariners Volleyball continued their impressive run of play with a commanding 3-0 victory over Laney College on Monday evening. The game was a reschedule of the many sporting events delayed by the North Bay Fires. The Mariners, came out on fire, opening up a wide margin in the first set and never looking back. Even more impressive was the team's performance considering they were without starting outside hitter Bella De Souza who was unavailable for the match.

The Mariners trailed 2-0 early in the first set before scoring the next five points of the match to take a 5-2 lead. They continued to build the advantage as they took the first set 25-13. The second set showed their dominance as they allowed just 11 points by Laney in a 25-11 second set victory. The third was also similar as Laney fell to the Mariners 25-12 in the third and final set.

The Mariners were efficient on the evening with a .233 hitting percentage and 24 kills in 60 attacks. More impressive was the team's serving numbers as they racked up 18 aces and just six service errors. Emma Harris led the way for Marin with 13 points including nine aces as she also added four kills and three assists on the evening.  Alejandra Leon contributed six kills, three aces and a pair of digs while Sarah Harris put on her usual impressive performance as setter with 15 assists, four digs, two aces and four kills of her own.

Marin has won four straight matches, each by a 3-0 margin.

Up next for the Mariners is a road match at Yuba College on Wednesday, October 24th followed by a home match against Napa Valley College on Friday, October 26th.
