Mariners End Season With 3-0 Win At Laney College

The 2017 Season game to end on a high note with a 3-0 victory over the Laney College Eagles on Friday. The Mariners dominated on offense and defense as Emma Harris and Alejandra Leon had career best matches. The win cemented the Mariners fourth place finish in the Bay Valley Conference and was their 15th match victory of the year.

The Mariners took control early and cruised through the first set 25-16. The second was even more dominate with a 25-11 victory. The third and final set was a bit cagier but the Mariners still managed to win by nine points 25-16.

On offense Alejandra Leon led the way with an impressive 16 kills and just four errors on 26 total attacks. She added five aces for a 21 point match. Emma Harris was immaculate at the libero position with four digs and excellent defense. On service she had 12 aces against zero service errors. She finished the season with 92 aces on the year to lead the state. Sarah Harris chipped in 29 assists, three aces, two kills and two digs while Salomi Galodamu had four kills, two aces, a dig and a block.

The Mariners finished the season with a 15-10 overall record and 11-5 in conference play. With a team of all freshman, the outlook is bright for the Mariners going forward.
