Maureen or “Mo” as she was called by friends and teammates, loved competing on the same team as many of the athletes she matched up against in high school. She fondly remembers the road trips for the chance to bond with her teammates.

Panakagakis said, “She was one of the most talented and aggressive basketball players he had ever coached, always dependable and easy to work with and coach. She was a fine basketball player”

Regarding, her time at College of Marin, Maureen cherishes the lifelong friendships that blossomed during her time as well as the opportunity she was granted to compete in athletics while pursuing her academic endeavors.

Maureen transferred to Sonoma State University to continue her basketball career. Post-graduation she traveled to New Zealand to compete in a professional women’s league.  Upon returning to Marin County she coached the girls’ basketball and softball teams at San Rafael High School.
