We are thrilled to announce that A'liyah Holmes, a dynamic freshman guard from San Francisco, CA, has earned Co-Mariner of the Month for January in Women's Basketball. 

Emerging Talent and Academic Excellence 

A'liyah's impact on and off the court is truly exceptional. Currently averaging 10.2 points per game and exhibiting a 26% three-point shooting accuracy, she has swiftly established herself as a valuable asset to the team. Beyond her athletic achievements, A'liyah's dedication to her studies is equally commendable. Achieving a remarkable GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall 2023 semester underscores her commitment to being a scholar-athlete. 

Intensity and Leadership 

A'liyah brings an unparalleled intensity to every practice session, a trait that is reflected in her performance on the court. Her relentless work ethic and unwavering focus serve as a source of inspiration to her teammates, elevating the team's overall morale and performance. 

Career High Performance Against Contra Costa College 

A'liyah's standout moment came during the electrifying 80-52 victory over Contra Costa College on January 17th. Displaying exceptional skill and determination, she achieved a career-high 24 points, shooting an impressive 50% from beyond the arc (6-16). In addition to her scoring prowess, A'liyah contributed four assists and two steals, showcasing her versatility and impact on both ends of the court. 

Continued Leadership and Growth 

With a total of 69 points scored in January alone, A'liyah's contributions have been nothing short of remarkable. As the season progresses, we eagerly anticipate witnessing the continued leadership and stellar performances that she will undoubtedly bring to the team.
