Anna Johnson - Women's Swim

A Women’s Swim and Dive sophomore from Mill Valley is named Co-Mariner of the Month of March.

Anna swam her lifetime best in the 200 free and 50 freestyle. We are looking forward to how Anna finishes out her sophomore season as a Mariner.

Why did you choose College of Marin?

I live nearby and was hoping to do a couple of classes to improve my chances of getting into a good master's school program. And when I found out I could participate in sports I jumped at the chance.

What are your academic/career goals?

I have a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology and I’m hoping to get a masters in Kinesiology. I love sports and athletics and hope I can have a career with that.

How do you manage being a full-time student and an athlete?

I have to say it’s very hard. Especially when I have a job as well. But prioritizing homework and using a planner so that I know when each assignment is due in order to juggle everything.

What do you enjoy about athletics?

I love being in shape and feeling strong. I also love competing and being on a team. My team here at COM is really special and I’m lucky to be a part of it.
