Basketball Players Carmody and Callum Named December Mariners of the Month

Basketball players Molly Carmody and Keiland Callum are the December Mariners of the Month.  

Molly Carmody, the freshman guard from Drake High School, is the leading scorer on the Women’s Basketball team and averaged 11.5 points and 3.67 rebounds in four December games. She scored more than 30% of the team’s points during the month of December. Her best game came against 15th ranked Cerritos College on December 18th as she scored 18 points including a perfect 4-4 from three point range. In the first two conference games of the year Carmody is averaging 19.5 points per game, good for 18th in the state in conference scoring.

Keiland Callum, the 6’6” sophomore forward for the Men’s Basketball Team, scored in double digits every game during December and had back-to-back double-doubles at the Kris Kringle Invitational. Against Moorpark College, Callum posted a season high in points with 25 including making 10-11 from the free throw line. In four December games Callum averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.
