Camille Shines as Diving Champion and Scholar: April's Co-Mariner of the Month

In an impressive display of skill and determination, Camille, a sophomore in Women's Diving, has been recognized as April's Co-Mariner of the Month. Her remarkable achievements in both sports and academics have set her apart as an exceptional individual.

Camille's success as the 2023 Coast Conference Champion in both the 1m and 3m diving events is a testament to her unwavering commitment and talent. With an outstanding overall score of 207.05, she narrowly surpassed the second-place finisher's score of 206.95, securing her position at the top of the podium. Her flawless dives showcased her precision and grace, leaving spectators in awe of her abilities.

Not content with her conference victories alone, Camille went on to demonstrate her prowess at the NorCal Regional qualifier. There, she placed an impressive 4th overall in the highly competitive 3m diving event, solidifying her reputation as a formidable competitor. Her consistently strong performances have placed her among the elite divers in the state.

Entering the CCCAA state meet, Camille held an impressive ranking of 6th in the state for the 1m diving event and 11th in the 3m diving event. These rankings reflect the rigorous training and dedication she has exhibited throughout the season. Camille's achievements have not only brought her personal success but have also contributed to her team's standing in the diving community.

Beyond her athletic prowess, Camille is also an exceptional student. With a cumulative GPA of 3.956, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her academic pursuits. Balancing the demands of diving and her studies is no small feat, but Camille's ability to excel in both areas showcases her exceptional work ethic and time management skills. 

With her unwavering dedication, exceptional talent, and outstanding academic achievements, Camille truly embodies the spirit of a Co-Mariner of the Month. Her future is undoubtedly filled with promise, and we eagerly await her future triumphs, both in and out of the diving arena. Camille will be attending California State University, Long Beach in the fall to continue her academic career.

Why did you choose College of Marin?  

They are ranked top in California for community colleges 

What are your academic/career goals?  

I am studying to become an interior designer and revive my BFA in interior design 

How do you manage being a full-time student and an athlete?   

I carefully planned my semesters and took more academically rigorous classes during the off-season. 

What do you enjoy about athletics? 

I love meeting all the people in the community and always having a goal life is never boring.
