Sophomore Point Guard Victoria Lane was named the Women’s Mariner of the Month for November. Her performance to start the season helped Marin to a pair of wins over Gavilan College and Hartnell College.

In five November games, Lane led the team with 17.4 points per game while shooting 39% from the floor and 70% from the free throw line. She averaged 6.8 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists and 3.2 steals per game during November.

In Lane’s first game of the season she finished second in scoring on the team with 18 points on 7-15 shooting. She added four assists, two rebounds and two steals to help the Mariners defeat Gavilan College 57-49. She followed up with a 13 point performance in a tough 62-60 loss to Cabrillo College on November 11th. In that game, Lane added six rebounds, five assists and four steals as well.

Lane’s third game of the year was another balanced showing by the point guard as she scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded four steals in Marin’s 72-61 defeat of Hartnell College on the road. Victoria notched her first double double of the season at Shasta College on November 25th as she scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Mariners loss at Shasta 57-48.

Lane’s finest game of the month came on the last day of the month on November 30th, against Lassen College at the Modesto Tournament. She scored 24 points while adding five rebounds, four assists and five steals in Marin’s 63-60 loss.  Her performance in the Modesto Tournament earned Lane All-Tournament Honors.

The Sophomore Guard is well on her way to a very successful 2017-2018 season.
