The Mariners’ Beach Volleyball duo of Sarah Harris and Alejandra Leon were named Co-Mariners of the Month for May. Sophomore pair were tremendous throughout the 2019 season and capped it off with a berth in the NorCal Pairs Tournament.  

Their excellent regular season earned them the sixth seed in the Big 8 Pairs Championship where Harris and Leon earned a pair of victories to secure a spot in the NorCal Tournament.

Their qualification marked the first ever appearance by a Mariners’ pair at the NorCal Championships. They were tasked with downing the top seed from West Valley, and after a loss they squared off against a familiar conference opponent from Delta College. Though both matches did not go in Harris and Leon’s favor the day capped a pair of excellent careers in Black and Gold.

Harris and Leon each competed in consecutive seasons for Marin’s Indoor and Beach Volleyball Teams. They were instrumental in the success of both and will be sorely missed on and off the court.
