Elk Grove, CA-- With Marin's season on the line, needing a win to extend the series against the #2 seeded Hawks Coach Bird put the ball into the hands of Cooper Casad for the second time in less than a week.

Casad, like Potts the day before, posted a dominant performance out on the mound. The only trouble he saw was in the top of the third when an error and a bunt for a hit put two runners on with one out. With the pair aboard the Hawks had one of their few squared up balls on the day to bring in a pair of runs. Casad responded with two quick outs to keep it a 2-0 lead for the Hawks.

The Mariners bats, which were dormant on Friday, were ready for a second crack at the Hawks. The Mariners used an error to get the bottom half of the third rolling. A pair of fielder's choices and a walk put runners on the corners and two outs for Jaymes Potts. Potts put a grounder through the left side and brought in Tyler Torres from third to get Marin their first run of the series. Next up was Matt Tarantino, the Mariners shortstop smacked a singled into left field to bring Chris Hayman in from second base to tie the game.

The game remained tied 2-2 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Hayman reached on a dropped third strike and Potts reached on an error with nobody out. Tarantino followed with an RBI single and Ryan Schlach duplicated the effort with an RBI single of his own to plate the second run of the inning and put the Mariners ahead 4-2.

Cooper Casad cruised through seven innings allowing just two runs, one earned with one walk and eight strikeouts. Schalch relieved Casad in the top of the eighth and retired the side in order. In the bottom of the eighth the Mariners increased their advantage to 6-2. Marcus Chiu led off with a triple and scored on Jakob Davidson's RBI double. Davidson scored on a single off the bat of Paul Kennedy.

Cosumnes River loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, and scored one on a bases loaded walk to cut the deficit to 6-3. Schlach stifled the rally with a game ending strikeout to force the decisive game three.

Cooper Casad picked up his eighth win of the season, and Schlach recorded his fifth save. Tarainto had a pair of RBI hits while Davidson had a double, RBI and run scored.
