Saturday showcased another Mariners' win and another home run from Marcus Chiu. The sophomore belted his ninth of the season and eighth in the previous 12 games to lift Marin to a 5-3 victory at home against Yuba College. College of Marin scored the final five runs of the game to rally back from a 3-0 deficit to take the win.

Yuba took an early lead in the top of the third as they put a runner on second with one out from a single and sacrifice bunt. A single scored the runner from second to take a 1-0 lead. A pair of back to back two out doubles buoyed the 49ers advantage to 3-0.

Dominic Garihan started for the Mariners and allowed just three runs. He completed seven innings while walking only one and striking out three.

Marin was held scoreless through the first three innings of play, but began their comeback in the bottom of the fourth inning. MacLean Meyn led off with a single and moved to third on a wild pitch and a ground out. With two outs Meyn came home on a wild pitch to cut Yuba's lead to 3-1.

After Yuba was retired in the top half of the fifth inning, Marin was at it again in the bottom half. James Harwell led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. A Dominic Burke single put runners at the corners with one away before Marcus Chiu knocked an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2.

Both teams traded zeroes until the bottom of the seventh as Dominic Burke led off with a single. Marcus Chiu followed with a home run to flip the score line to 4-3 in favor of College of Marin. The Mariners added their fifth run in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single by Burke.

Chris Allen retired the final six batters of the game to close out Yuba and earn the save, while Garihan grabbed the victory for College of Marin. Chiu had three hits including his home run and had three RBI.

The win pushed Marin's record to 14-10 on the season and 5-1 in conference play tied atop the Bay Valley Conference with Los Medanos College and Laney College.
