Though the season is over for College of Marin Baseball, the acclaim is just beginning. At the Bay Valley Conference meetings nine players received commendations on the All-Conference and Gold Glove Teams. Sophomores Nick Roth, and Michael Benz were named First Team All-Conference, as was Freshman Anthony Pomilia.

Starting pitcher Nick Roth enjoyed a tremendous 2019 campaign and earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team. He finished the year with a 6-4 record in 79 innings with a 3.19 ERA and 82 strikeouts.

Relief pitcher Michael Benz also displayed his potential in the 2019 season, resulting in a spot on the All-Conference First Team. The super reliever did a bit of everything in 23 appearances. He worked 63 innings with four victories, while picking up six saves as well and finished out the year with a 3.71 ERA and 68 strikeouts.

The Mariners third and final First Teamer was Anthony Pomilia who turned in an excellent Freshman season at the hot corner. The Redwood grad batted .339 on the year with 11 doubles, two homers and 25 runs batted in. He led the team in batting average and hits and was the second leading run scorer with 34 on the year.

Landen Moran earned a pair of honors in his first year in Black and Gold. The Mariners' second baseman was named to the BVC All-Conference Second Team and All-Conference Gold Glove Team. Moran batted .320 on the year and led the Mariners with 13 doubles on the season. He was tremendous with the glove committing just four errors in 185 total chances for a .978 fielding percentage.

Jacob Berg also earned a spot on the All-Conference Gold Glove Team. The freshman was superb in centerfield during the year. He had a perfect fielding percentage in 114 total chances and recorded three outfield assists as well.

The Mariners were talented enough to also get four honorable mentions for a quartet of key contributors in 2019.

Sophomore shortstop Randy Fernandez was an excellent second campaign for the Mariners, turning in a .297 batting average and a team leading 27 RBIs during the year. He had 12 doubles and two homers and led the team with 10 stolen bases. His .453 slugging percentage was best on the team.

Freshman pitcher Matthew Lozovoy had a solid debut year for the Mariners. He had a 4-4 record and two saves in 16 total appearances, including eight starts. He pitched 56.1 innings and struck out 51 opposing hitters, good for an 8.18 K/9 ratio.

Freshman first baseman Conor Bardue showed great promise during the 2019 season. He finished second on the team with 26 RBIs and was second with a pair of homers. He batted .237 overall but worked a team high 29 walks for a .391 on base percentage, third highest on the Mariners.

Last, but certainly not least is Dionathan Cornet. The freshman outfielder wowed with his tremendous power displayed in the second half of the season. After a slow start, he hit .268 on the season with four prodigious home runs to lead the Mariners. He drove in 20 and scored 21 as well while blasting five doubles. He finished the year second on the team with a slugging percentage of .443.
