Mariners’ Basketball player Jalen Chandler is moving up. The sophomore guard/forward committed to San Francisco State University to play basketball for the Gators. Chandler earned 2019-2020 First Team All-Conference honors as his team took fifth place in the Bay Valley Conference.

Chandler improved immensely from his freshman year as he upped his yearly averages across the board. In 27 games the East Bay product averaged 17.1 points per game on 50% shooting. He nearly doubled his career rebounding numbers with 8.8 per game during the year.

Chandler was remarkably consistent throughout the season with double figure scoring in 25 games. He scored 25 points on three separate occasions, against Los Medanos on January 8^th, Alameda on January 22^nd and against Yuba College on February 5^th.

The sophomore finished up his Mariners career in style and now moves on to San Francisco State where he is sure to thrive.
