College of Marin Men’s Soccer Goal Scoring Drought Continues In 2-0 Loss To Merritt

Conference play began Friday for the College of Marin Men's Soccer team. They traveled to Oakland to face Merritt College looking for their first goal in over two weeks. While they came close several times, the Mariners were unable to break through and fell to the Merritt Thunderbirds 2-0.

It was a solid performance for the Mariners but they could not get any of the necessary breaks to grab a goal. The team has not scored a goal since their 4-2 loss at Monterey Peninsula College on September 12th, spanning four complete matches.

William Finnie did well in goal, stopping twelve shots for the College of Marin, however he was beaten twice, the first by Jaime Pablo, and a second time by Merritt's Diego Harrison to complete the 2-0 score.

The Mariners have the weekend to rest and recover before traveling to Yuba College on Tuesday October 4th at 4pm.
