Soccer’s Joseph Ndungu to Transfer To San Francisco State This Fall

College of Marin soccer player Joseph Ndungu is planning to transfer to San Francisco State University this fall. The midfielder opted to head to the City to continue his academic career. Ndungu plans to try and walk on with the Gators when their athletics’ are allowed to resume.

The two-year starter for College of Marin enjoyed a successful career with the Mariners. Across two seasons Ndungu started 30 of 32 matches and scored five goals and two assists. He played for the team in the 2017 season and scored three goals and recorded an assist in 15 matches. After a redshirt season, he took to the field once again in 2019 and tallied two goals and assist in 17 matches.

Ndungu served as an integral part of the Mariners midfield, as he utilized his excellent pace, and dribbling skills to confound opposing defenders. His sophomore season saw the Mariners record a 4-3-3 record in their 10 Bay Valley Conference matches.

Joseph Ndungu was the loan sophomore during the 2019 season, as he departs Marin for San Francisco. Though he is moving on, he will not soon be forgotten at College of Marin.
