Mariners’ Freshman Garret and Kindle star at 11th Annual Mariner Invite

The College of Marin Swim & Dive team hosted the 11th Annual Mariner Invite at the Indian Valley Campus on Saturday, March 12th.

Freshman swimmer Hope Garret was excellent in the pool with top ten finishes in 50 meter backstroke, 200 meter butterfly and the 50 meter freestyle. She finished seventh in the 50 meter freestyle, third in the 200 meter butterfly and first in the 50 meter backstroke.

In the diving tank, three Mariners grabbed top five finishes led by Perry Kindle and Brandon Guy who took first in the 1 meter diving competitions. Kindle snagged 172.45 points to pace the competition while teammates Maddie Bailey finished fourth with 98.5 points and Jessica Luna was fifth with 70.5 points. Guy won the men's competition with a 111.49.

The College of Marin Athletic Department wants to express sincere thanks for College of Marin Hall of Famers David Cotton and Bob Justice for their support and help during the swim meet.
