Swim & Dive’s Perry Kindel Named Bay Valley Conference Diver of the Year

College of Marin Diver Perry Kindel finished a spectacular freshman season with an outstanding award. Kindel was named Bay Valley Conference Diver of the Year at the NorCal Diving Championships after finishing first of all BVC divers in the 1 and 3 meter competitions. She took first place in the 1 meter with 141.3 points and first in the 3 meter with 105.5 points.  Those numbers placed her 10th in Northern California in the 1 meter competition and 11th in Northern California in the 3 meter competition.

Her excellent NorCal Finals performance finished out what was a very successful first year for the aquatic Mariner.

Kindel competed well from early on. At the Las Positas College Invite she placed fourth on the 1 meter board despite competing against several top NorCal divers. At the Mariner Invite at Indian Valley College Kindel again showed her mettle recording a season high 172.45 points in a staggering 1 meter win.

She carried that momentum to the Solano invite where she placed first in both the 1 and 3 meter competitions. She took the 1 meter with 156 points and the 3 meter with 117.5 points.  At the Chabot invite Kindel grabbed second place on the 1 meter board with 145.53 points in what was her final tune up before the NorCal Diving Championships.

Kindel will look to repeat as Diver of the Year next spring.
