Dominique Duro Is Women's Mariner of the Month for April

Freshman Swimmer Dominique Duro is Mariner of the Month for April. Duro competed in two matches in April and had three victories and four other top three finishes in that time.

She began her excellent April at the Chabot College Last Chance Invitational on April 7th. Duro began the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke and followed that showing with another third place showing in the 100 Yard Backstroke. She saved her best for last with second place time in the 100 Yard Freestyle race.

Duro was even better at the Bay Valley Conference Championships on April 20th and 21st posting three first place finishes and a second place on the day. She was the victor in the 50 Yard Backstroke, 100 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard Backstroke. She also took second place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley. Her performance at the Conference Championships earned Duro a berth in the State Finals.

At the State Finals, Duro took 21st in the Women’s 200 Yard IM, and 17th in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Her best showing was in the 100 Yard Backstroke where she finished in 15th place.

Duro was named an All-American for her 2018 Season.
