Swim’s Nick Cruse is May Co-Mariner of the Month

Mariners’ swimmer Nick Cruse was named Co-Mariner of the Month for May. The sophomore finished off his excellent career at College of Marin with an impressive showing at the CCCAA State Championships at DeAnza College in Cupertino. Cruse competed in both the 200 Yard and 500 Yard Free, taking a Top 10 Finish in the 500 Yard Free.

He placed sixth in the 500 Yard Free heats before taking ninth in the final. It was his second straight top ten finish as he took third in the 2018 State Championships. He also swam in the preliminary stage of the 200 Yard Free and finished just outside the top 16.

It was a storied career for Cruse at College of Marin with to appearances in the final meet of the year. Cruse qualified for the Championships with a quartet of top five finishes in the Bay Valley Conference Championships.

Cruse’s aquatic future is bright, and only the pool’s walls can hold him back.
