CCCAA Swim and Dive State Meet Preview
The College of Marin's Swimming and Diving teams are gearing up for the CCCAA Swimming and Diving State Championships, taking place at East Los Angeles Community College from May 4th to May 6th. This marks the second year that the College of Marin is represented at the state meet, and the team is excited to showcase their skills and compete against the top community college swimming and diving programs in the state.
 
Beatrix Franus, a standout swimmer for the Mariners, will be competing in the 50 freestyle on Thursday, the 100 backstroke on Friday, and the 100 freestyle on Saturday. Beatrix is coming into the meet seeded 11th in the 50 freestyle, 11th in the 100 backstroke, and 8th in the 100 freestyle. Fans of the Mariners will be eagerly watching to see if Beatrix can make waves and swim her way to the podium.
 
Also representing the Mariners is diver Camille Davis, who is ranked 6th in the state in the 1M diving event and 11th in the 3M diving event. Camille is set to dive on the 4th and 5th and will be looking to make a splash with her impressive skills.
 
Coach Steve Carrera is thrilled that the College of Marin is represented at the state meet for the second year in a row. "It's amazing to have the College of Marin represented among the top community college swimming and diving programs in the state," says Carrera. "I am excited that we are continuing to build, and both Beatrix and Camille are great representatives of the College of Marin and the Marin County community."
