The College of Marin swim team made waves at the Chabot "Last Chance Invite" swim meet on April 8, 2023. The Mariners showed off their skills in the pool and left their mark on the competition.
Alex Boutakoff was one of the standout performers for the Mariners. Entering the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:59:80, Boutakoff swam a remarkable race and finished with an impressive time of 2:36:52, shaving off over 20 seconds from his previous time.
Anna Johnson was another standout performer for the Mariners, entering the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:32:47. Johnson swam a phenomenal race, finishing with a time of 1:31:44, nearly a full second faster than her previous best time.
Sean Padillo also showed improvement in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, posting modest time improvements in both races.
The Mariners are now looking ahead to the Coast Conference Championship meet, which will be held at Ohlone College on April 20-22. With the team's impressive performances at the Chabot "Last Chance Invite," the Mariners are poised for success at the upcoming championship meet.
