Mariners Make Waves at Coast Conference Championships

The College of Marin Women's and Men’s Swim team concluded their season with a splash at the Coast Conference Championships held at Chabot College. With determination and skill, they showcased their talents, securing notable victories and earning medals in various events. 

The women of College of Marin displayed exceptional performances, earning a commendable 258 points and clinching the 5th position overall. 

Notable Highlights from the Women’s Team: 

 

200 Y Freestyle: The quartet of Lilly Weires, Raque Wiley, Becca Janssen, and Kailah Sarganis showcased synchrony and speed, clinching 3rd place with a time of 1:46.59. 

400 Y IM: Lilly Weires delivered a breathtaking performance, clinching 1st place with a stellar time of 5:06.67. 

100 Y Freestyle: Lilly Weires once again demonstrated her mettle, securing 2nd place with a time of 55.23. 

800 Y Freestyle: Kailah Sarganis, Becca Janssen, Raquel Wiley, and Lilly Weires showcased their endurance, swimming 8:47.20 and securing 3rd place. 

100 Y Breaststroke: Becca Janssen earned 3rd place with a time of 1:13.06. 

These achievements, coupled with stellar performances in events like the 200Y Medley Relay and the 800 Y Freestyle Relay, underscored the team's unity and determination to excel. Women’s Swim Team. 

Men’s Team Displays Grit: 

While the men's team faced stiff competition, they exhibited determination and resilience in their performances. Sean Padillo showcased his skill in the 200 Y IM, 100 Y Breaststroke, and 200 Y Breaststroke, earning valuable points for the team. 

Looking Ahead: 

Lilly Weires will be traveling to Orange Coast College on May 2nd to compete in the 3C2A Championships. She will swim the 400 IM, 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle.
