Three Mariners Take To the Track at Maurice Compton Invitational

College of Marin Track & Field competed at the Maurice Compton Invitational at Merritt College in Oakland on Saturday, April 9th. Amanda Villareal, Mark Wang and Carlos Garcia competed for the Mariners at the meet.

Villareal ran in the 100 meter hurdles posting a time of 16.69 seconds, her second best time of the year and just 0.28 seconds off her personal best set last season. Her time was good for fifth place of the 13 competitors.

Garcia and Wang both competed in the 800 and 1500 meter runs on Saturday. Garcia posted a time of 2:21:32 in the 800 meter dash, just two seconds off his personal best he set in February. In the 1500 meter run Garcia finished with a time of 4:51:60 four seconds shy of his personal best.  

Mark Wang ran a time of 4:56:02 in the 1500 meter good for a personal best. He improved by 0.35 seconds over his time at the Bob Rush Team Challenge in March. In the 800 meter Wang posted a time of 2:45:32.

The Mariners travel to the Big 8 Championships on Monday, April 25th
