Zach Ahlin Takes Ninth In NorCal Pole Vault Finals

Freshman Track and Field star Zach Ahlin finished his impressive campaign at DeAnza College on Saturday in the NorCal Finals. Ranked 14th in the pole vault at the beginning of the day, Ahlin vaulted himself into the top ten with a personal best height of thirteen feet and three inches for ninth place in Northern California.

Ahlin set several personal bests throughout his 2017 season including the 800 meter, the pole vault and the decathlon. Of the seven school records set this year, Ahlin was a part of three of them including COM's 4x400 meter relay team.

Coach Liz Gill on Ahlin's season "Zach had an incredible freshman season PRing in all of his events including the 800m, Pole Vault, 4x400m, and Decathlon. He still has a ton of potential to develop in each of these events."

Ahlin is one of several members of the 2017 team that will return for the 2018 season.
