The College of Marin Track & Field season came to a close at the Central Valley Conference Championships in Sanger on Friday, April 27th. Freshman Shot-putter Giulio Chiappolini was the lone participant for the Mariners on the day.
It was a very competitive field in the Shot Put Competition including the top ranked Darrell Kaanaana from Yuba College. Marin's Chiappolini qualified for the finals where his best distance was 9.77 meters, good for tenth place in the competition.
In his four competitions in the 2018 season Chiappolini's best distance was 10.38 meters at the College of San Mateo opener. He will continue his educational career in the fall at UC Santa Cruz.
