Trio of Mariners Compete at East Bay Invite

College of Marin Track & Field ventured to Chabot College for the East Bay Invite on Friday. Myrron Minor, Brandon Lee and Megan Bartschat held their own against several athletes from several two- and four-year schools.

Minor started his day with the 100-meter dash, he finished in a time of 12.03 seconds his second best showing of the season in that event. He previously ran in 12 seconds flat at the Aggie Open in March. Minor took 23rd overall in the field of 40 competitors. He also competed in the long jump where he set a personal best with 5.49 meters. His distance placed him 14th out of 19 participants.

Brandon Lee started the day off with the 400-meter race where he finished in 55.43 for an 18th placed finish out of 27 racers. He set a personal best, improving upon a time of 58.35 seconds in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Lee also competed in the long jump with 5.18 meters, good for 16th place.

Megan Bartschat was the lone female participant for the Mariners. She raced in the 1500-meter run and finished in 37th place with a time of 5:11.47. It was her second best showing this season in the 1500-meter. Her best was at the Mike Finelli Track Classic where she finished in just under five minutes and four seconds. Bartschat was one of 57 to compete in that distance.

It was the penultimate regular season meet for the Mariners. Next up for Marin is the College of San Mateo Last Chance Meet on Thursday, April 18th in the Peninsula.
