Women's Basketball Takes Fourth Place In Bay Valley Conference

The Women's Basketball team enjoyed their finest season in Tannea Nelson's tenure as Head Coach. After a rocky non-conference schedule the team posted a 10-6 conference record in route to a fourth place finish and 13-13 overall record. The team finished the season on a 9-2 run including wins over Co-Conference Champions Solano and Laney Colleges. Nelson was named Bay Valley Conference Coach of the Year.

Jenna May was named to first team All-Conference despite fighting injuries for the first half of the season. She finished the season averaging 10.4 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, 1.9 steals per game and shot 63.8 percent from the free throw line.  Against 3rd ranked East Los Angeles College Jenna scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Mariners. Jenna May will transfer to UC Santa Barbara in the fall to continue her studies.

Bridget Pacchetti was a Bay Valley Conference Honorable Mention and had an excellent season as a lock down defender and scorer. As a team captain, she started all 23 games she played in and averaged 9.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Against Los Medanos College scored 16 points, and had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Bridget is transferring to Pacific Union College in the fall to study nursing.

Glenda Garay returned to the team after redshirting in the previous season and played in all 26 games, starting 11 of them. She reinforced her reputation as an accurate shooting, adding in a three point shot to her repertoire.  As a captain she averaged 5.8 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game and 1 steal per game. Against Solano College she scored 13 points, and grabbed 5 rebounds while making all three of her three pointers attempted. In the fall she is transferring to San Jose State University to continue her education.

Christina Thermidor also returned after a redshirt season to be a dominate force in the low post. She played in all of the team's 26 games and averaged 5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. In her final game against Yuba College she scored 10 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and blocked two shots. This fall she is transferring to Walla Walla University to play basketball continue her education.
