Mariners Women’s Basketball Dominates the Napa Valley Storm 82-40

The Mariners took care of business on Wednesday evening in Napa, thoroughly blasting the Storm 82-40. All five starters scored in double figures and played a complete 40 minutes of basketball. Victoria Lane led the way with 27 points for the Mariners on an efficient 17 shots from the field.

Right out of the game it was clear that the Marin processed superior firepower. The ball darted around the court, while the drive were aggressive, and the shots primarily on target. Marin held a large lead at halftime and continued to weather the Storm from Napa which never really came. The team cruised to a large victory which allowed Marin to rest some players in the leadup to their next game.

The Mariners were deadly efficient from the field, shooting 50% from the floor, and 60% from beyond the arc.

Lane led the way for Marin with 27 points on 10-17 shooting including 2 of 3 from distance. She also added a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line and four rebounds, three assists and four steals to boot. Kaleah Williams had 18 points including four three pointers, while Maya Murry Pena had 16 points and four rebounds on the evening.

Next up for the Mariners is a home showdown with Merritt College on Friday January 19th at 7:30pm.
