Mariners Women’s Basketball Completes Season Sweep Of Mendocino 80-52

College of Marin Women's Basketball made the most of their road trip to Ukiah on Wednesday as they quickly dispatched their opponents' hopes of garnering a victory. The Mariners swiftly delivered their on court justice with a complete victory 80-52 over the Mendocino College Eagles. It was a balanced attack as all five starters scored at least eight points, and chipped a minimum of three rebounds, an assist and a steal.

The Mariners game out on fire, moving the ball, and knocking down shots. It was practically over just as soon as it began as Marin raced out to a big lead, before settling in and managing their advantage. Victoria Lane was excellent as always at point guard, nearly missing a triple double with 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. She added three steals as the Mariners combined to swipe the ball 15 times from the opposing Eagles.

Kaleah Williams was top scorer on the day, slashing to the hoop to score 25 points on 9-12 shooing including 7-11 from the free throw line. The freshman added seven assists and six steals on the evening.

Marin eased through the second half, recording a 28 point victory of the Eagles.

Kyra Bolden recorded her first double double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds as well as a steal and an assist on the evening. Janea Early just missed a double double with 13 points and nine rebounds as well.

The win pushes the Mariners record to 12-7 with a Bay Valley Conference record of 7-3.
