The Mariners tore through the visiting 49ers on Wednesday evening, blitzing their opponent for 48 first half points in route to an 80-53 victory. It was not as easy as it seemed for Marin who had multiple players sustain injuries that kept them out of the game for a time. All in all Marin managed to win the game early and coasted, while getting huge contributions from Victoria Lane and Kaleah Williams.

The score was tied early 5-5 before the Mariners exploded for an 18-4 run to end the first quarter with a 23-9 lead. Williams was magnificent with 16 points including three made three pointers. The second quarter went much like the first as Marin extended their lead to 37-11 before closing out the first half with a 48-15 lead. In the second quarter it was Lane who was the high scorer as she racked up 12 points in the period.

Yuba's offense woke up a bit in the third quarter as they managed to score 22 points, while the Mariners tallied 19 to maintain a 30 point lead, 67-37 at the third quarter break. Lane added 10 more in the third. Marin led 70-41 with five minutes left in the fourth before closing out the game and emerging with the win 80-53.

Lane led all scorers with 33 points, including three made three pointers. Williams was close behind with 28 of her own including five three pointers. Rachel Sprague led Yuba with 23 points.

Marin travels to Contra Costa College on Friday, February 9th for showdown with the Comets at 7:30pm.
