Mariners Basketball Ends Season with 80-48 Rout of Napa Valley College

It was a bittersweet scene at the College of Marin Gym of Friday evening. Victoria Lane and Regan Andel both played their final game in a Mariners' uniform. It was bitter that it was their last game, but the performance of them and the entire team was no doubt sweet. Lane recorded a triple double, while Andel recorded a season high in points. To top it off, Kaleah Williams had a season high 41 points and 10 made three pointers in the 80-48 win over the Napa Valley Storm.

Marin began the game with their hair on fire as the jumped out to a 17-6 lead and extended it to 23-6 after ten minutes of play. Williams had eight in the first quarter while Lane added six more. The second quarter was much of the same as Marin poured in 22 more points while limiting Napa to 15 of their own. Williams had 11 more points in the second as the Mariners led 45-21 at halftime.

The pace slowed considerable in the second half but it did not deter Marin from continuing to score. Williams had three more threes in the third while Lane dished out the assists. Marin led 63-32 after the third and cruised through the fourth to an 80-48 win.

Williams was 15-31 from the floor, including 10-23 from long range. She had 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals to go with her 41 points on the evening. Lane had 15 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals for her second triple double of the year. Kyra Bolden added 13 points and four rebounds while Regan Andel had four points, four rebounds and a block in her final game as a Mariner.

The team finished the season with a 16-9 record and 11-5 in Bay Valley Conference play.
