Bryant Dominates the Mound and the Classroom: May's Co-Mariner of the Month 

In recognition of his exceptional performance both on and off the baseball field, Bryant Thornton, a sophomore relief pitcher, has been named May's Co-Mariner of the Month. His remarkable achievements as an athlete and his dedication to his studies have set him apart as a standout individual. 

Bryant's outstanding efforts throughout the season have earned him the prestigious title of first-team relief pitcher in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). His talent and skill on the mound have been nothing short of remarkable. In a historic feat for the College of Marin Athletics, Bryant went scoreless in conference games, showcasing his dominance as a relief pitcher. His ability to consistently shut down opposing batters and protect his team's leads has made him an invaluable asset to the Mariners' Baseball team. 

While excelling in his athletic pursuits, Bryant's commitment to his education has also been commendable. His cumulative GPA of 3.43 reflects his dedication and hard work in the classroom. Bryant's ability to balance the demands of baseball and his academic responsibilities is a testament to his discipline, time management skills, and unwavering determination to succeed both on and off the field. Bryant will be transferring to a four-year institution in the fall.  

Why did you choose College of Marin?  

It was close to my home and the baseball program is good for developing and moving guys on to four year programs. 
What are your academic/career goals? 

Play baseball for as long as possible than pursue physical therapy. 

How do you manage being a full-time student and an athlete? 

Having a daily schedule of when I go to practice and slotting time for me to do homework everyday has helped balance the load. 

What do you enjoy about athletics? 

I love the competition and the ability to constantly work on something to help you get better.
