Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student Athlete Advisory Commitee (SAAC) provides College of Marin student-athletes with the opportunity to have leadership opportunities beyond their field of play. SAAC members are appointed by the sport team head coaches and shall be led by an elected president and vice-president. The duties of the committee shall include, but are not limited to:

Creating sporting events that will help bond students on campus; Engaging the college community so that mutual appreciation exists for all constituencies on campus, including student-athletes; Planning and partaking in community service and engagement opportunities for all students.

As members of the College of Marin Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), we agree to respect not only ourselves, our entire Mariner community, as well as our competitors; We will promote unity & trust by collaborating with all teams, coaches and students as we commit to serving and representing our school.

Functions of the College of Marin SAAC

  • ●  Promote communications between athletic administrators and student-athletes

  • ●  SAAC is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive working environment where we value and develop student-athletes of all backgrounds and experiences. We firmly believe collaboration among team members with varied pasts and perspectives generates more incisive and deeper insights that better serve our COM community.

  • ●  Provide feedback and insight into athletic department issues

  • ●  Create an environment that promotes accountability by setting and accomplishing goals for individuals, teams, and as an organization

  • ●  Generate a student-athlete voice within the athletic department during policy formation

  • ●  Build a sense of community and family within the athletic program involving all teams

  • ●  Organize community service efforts

  • ●  Hard work, honesty, and teamwork will be foundation for growth of one’s individual self, team, and organization

  • ●  Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus
