Beach Volleyball Drops Match To University of San Francisco

Mariners Beach Volleyball fell on Friday to the University of San Francisco Dons 5-0. It was Marin's second match of the day after bagging a victory over College of San Mateo previously. The Mariners fought hard, but were defeated in the end.

The top Mariners' pairing of Sarah Harris and Alejandra Leon battled but ultimately fell to the Dons' duo of Anna Dalla Vecchia and Carly Lowry in straight sets by scores of 21-10 and 21-12. The sophomores looked equal to their opponents at times but could not pull off the upset.

Amanda Proctor and Magnolia Johnson comprised the second pair for Marin. They fell in their second match of the day 21-6, and 21-6. The 3's pair consisted of Nattisia Ferrin and Kirsta Rodriguez-McKee and fell to their counterparts from USF 21-7 and 21-4.

The four's pairing of Luisa Ayala and Khadeejia Marcum also fell by a similar scoreline 21-7 and 21-6 before the five's pair of Ashley Chanthongthip and Mackensie Graham went down 21-9 and 21-8.

Despite the loss it was a positive day for Marin who opened their new facility with a victory and had a number of home fans to cheer for them.

The Mariners have a week off before they host the Fresno City College Rams for two matches on Friday, February 8th starting at 1pm.
