Beach Volleyball Downed By Cabrillo Seahawks 5-0

Mariners' Beach Volleyball enjoyed a sunny day in the Santa Cruz sand. Their hosts, the Cabrillo Seahawks were not as welcoming. Marin faced the Coast Conference squad and went down in straight sets 5-0.

Erika Eide held down the fort with the fives, but played with her third different partner of the season. Marissa Morris teamed with Eide and the pair had relative success on the day. Though they dropped both sets, the 21-15 margin was certainly respectable against a powerhouse like Cabrillo.

Kailani Kwan-Sy and Francesca Varagnolo combined to take on the fours of Cabrillo. The first set was ugly at 21-8, but they rebounded to deliver a competitive second set in a 21-17 loss. Lara Perry and Jade Williams took on the Seahawks' threes. The Mariners' pair went down in straight sets 21-13 and 21-9.

Magnolia Johnson and Natasha Saccardi paired up against Cabrillo's twos for a quick two set match. Cabrillo grabbed the win by set scores of 21-13 and 21-7. Makenzie Dugan and Salomi Galodamu took on the top pair from Cabrillo and engaged in an entertaining battle. The Seahawks took the first set 21-17 and finished off the Mariners with a 21-18 second set victory.

Though Marin fell in their match, they continued to battle tough opponents through every point.
