The old adage "It ain't over til its over" never rang more true than it did Wednesday in Kentfield. One of the wildest games in recent memory saw wild lead changes and hits galore as the Mariners ended up on the wrong side of a 11-10 home game against Laney College. After scoring seven in the seventh inning to take a 10-7 lead, the Mariners yielded three runs in the top of the eighth to push the game into extra innings locked in a 10-10 tie. Laney pushed across the go ahead run in the 11^th and Marin was unable to respond in the bottom half.

College of Marin got on the board quickly, scoring twice in the bottom half of the first inning. Chris Hayman singled to lead off and scored on a triple off the bat of Ryan Schalch. Jakob Davidson drove in Schalch with a double to give Marin an early 2-0 lead. They added a third in the bottom of the third with an RBI ground out from Davidson.

The three run advantage was short lived as Laney opened the top of the fourth with four consecutive hits followed by a sacrifice fly to tie the game up at 3-3. The game remained in balance until the top of the sixth inning. Laney's Anthony Morris tripled and scored on a throwing error to give his team the 4-3 lead. With two outs and runners on first and second Trevor Greenley hit a double plating two, and came around on a pair of wild pitches to give Laney a 7-3 lead.  Jaymes Potts started for Marin and pitched five and a third innings before he was relieved by Chris Moreno.

College of Marin rallied in a big way in the bottom of the seventh. After a leadoff walk to and fielding error put two on and no outs Marcus Chiu, Matt Tarantino, Schalch and Davidson had RBI hits tie the game at 7-7.  With two out and runners at second and third, Paul Kennedy's RBI groundout returned the lead to the Mariners. Hayman's RBI single scored two more and pushed the lead to 10-7.

Schalch replaced Moreno on the hill to start the eighth inning and allowed Laney to load the bases with no outs. After picking off the runner on second, Laney grounded out to score a run before a walk and a two run double tied the game at 10-10.  The Mariners failed to mount a threat in the eighth, ninth or tenth and Laney was held scoreless as well during that time.

In the top of the 11^th, Laney's Kaleo Johnson singled, advanced to second on an error, and to third on a passed ball before scoring on an RBI single to give Laney an 11-10 lead.  The Mariners put two on with two outs in the bottom of the 11^th but Eric Smith lined out to shortstop ending the threat and the game.

College of Marin travels to Folsom Lake on Thursday, April 14^th to take on the Falcons.
