With pro baseball in full swing, a few former Mariners are in action, 2014 Draft Pick Alec Kenilvort and 2017 Draft Pick Marcus Chiu.

Kenilvort was drafted in the 15^th round back in 2014 by the Colorado Rockies after helped lead College of Marin to the 2014 Bay Valley Conference Title. The Marin native spent his first three years in professional baseball with three different teams. He advanced from Rookie League ball, to Low A ball to Full Season A level baseball in Asheville. After the 2016 season, the Rockies released Kenilvort. He caught on with independent team the Schaumburg Boomers for the beginning of the 2017 season.

In 20 appearances, Kenilvort recorded an ERA of 3.10 with 27 strikeouts and 6 walks in 20.1 innings pitched. His performance warranted the attention the Milwaukee Brewers who signed him to a minor league contract on July 14^th. As of July 19^th Kenilvort competed in two games for the Arizona Rookie League Brewers allowing a run in two innings with four strikeouts.  He was promoted to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League and made his A ball debut on July 22^nd. He struggled in his first two appearances but earned his first save of the season on July 29^th with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning of work in a win 4-1 over the Peoria Chiefs.

 Chiu has had a whirlwind of a year. After leading the Mariners to the 2017 Bay Valley Conference Title, the second basement was drafted in the 15^th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He quickly departed for Arizona where he joined the Dodgers Rookie League Team. His first few games were rough as Chiu went 0 for 10 with four strikeouts before notching his first professional hit on June 29^th. He launched his first professional home run on July 20^th against the AZL Indians in a 10-9 victory. In 24 professional games Chiu is batting .203 with 15 hits, 8 RBIs, and 13 runs scored.
